1967 Ford Mustang 1967 Fastback SHELBY GT500

The Shelby GT 500 is a Ford Mustang, created in 1967 during the restyling of Ford Mustang Fastbacks originating from the same year. Carroll Shelby, who built his own Mustangs under his own brand, followed this development and used it to give his Mustangs a more personal style, and now clearly stand out from the Mustangs produced by Ford. Shelby decided to equip his lineup with a "high-performance" model powered by the most powerful engine Mustang ever had under the hood, with a 428 cc ( 7 L ) displacement Ford Police Interceptor V8. Thus, the Shelby GT 500 was born. The GT 500 stands out from other Mustangs with a redesigned front end that gives it a more aggressive and decidedly sporty look. The air intakes are on the hood and front of the rear fenders and at the air intake point in the rear quarter. The rear undergoes as many, if not more, changes than the front. The legendary three-position lights are abandoned in favor of the slim 1967 Mercury Cougar lights. The trunk now features a raised spoiler. The interior remains a production Ford Mustang. The galloping pony logo is replaced by Carroll Shelby's own Cobra logo. The performance of the Shelby is on its performance. Its V8 propels it from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.21 and it reaches a speed of 220 km/h. Fifty 1967 GT 500 models were produced equipped with the nearly 450 horsepower 427 ci V8.
