The Plymouth Barracuda is a two-door pony car that was produced by the Chrysler Corporation from 1964 to the 1974 model years.

The first generation Barracuda was based on the Chrysler A-body and was offered from 1964 to 1966. The two-door hardtop (no B-pillar) fastback shared the vast majority of parts and bodywork with the Plymouth Valiant, except for the huge and prominent rear window.

The second generation Barracuda, while still based on the Valiant, was heavily redesigned. Built from 1967 to 1969, it was available as a two-door in fastback, notchback and convertible versions.

The third generation (this particular car), offered from 1970 to 1974, was based on the Chrysler E body, exclusive to it, and the slightly larger Dodge Challenger. An all-new design, the two-door Barracuda was available in hardtop and convertible body styles.

The newly designed third generation Barracuda hit showrooms on the all-new E-Body platform designed by John Herlitz. So it was shorter and wider than its predecessor, and while it shared similarities with its Dodge sibling, it had zero interchangeable body parts. Offered only in coupe and convertible form, you can choose from the base model, the luxurious Gran Coupe or the sporty Cuda models. The car's wider stance was forced by the need for more engine room for the big-block powerplants available as the 440ci and 426ci Hemi V8s. These high performance engines required upgraded suspension and drivetrain components to better deliver power to the ground! Today they are highly sought after and continue to appeal to a wide range of classic car enthusiasts, young and old, and this is also an example of a car we import! 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda Hardtop Coupe showing off a repaint of its original high impact "FJ5" Limelight Green over "H6X9" black vinyl seat interior!
