From completely new cylinders to electronically variable intake manifolds and finally to a water-to-air intercooler, it is a breakthrough engine that is probably the most unique, at least in its segment. In addition, it has a 3.0L Duramax low and high pressure EGR system, electronic throttle valve, variable geometry turbocharger ball bearings and a 36,250 psi common rail injection system make it one of the cleanest and most powerful diesel engines (for its size) ever produced.
