It is necessary to eliminate the axial play on the rear axle, for example, when fitting rear 4-piston or other brakes. The normal clearance on the rear axle is more than 2 mm on each wheel! The moment I mount a 4-piston or other caliper, the play is transferred directly to the brake pistons and these are then pushed through the brake pads. The unpleasant consequence is a sagging brake pedal and constant pressure in the brake system.
The weight reduction is also an indisputable advantage, as the caliper holder is now made of aluminum and not cast iron, and finally a much larger tapered roller bearing on the half-axles.
Eliminates back axle clearance on all 2005 + Mustangs. We recommend installation only by a specialist garage.
